Halau Hula Napuaokalei'ilima

    Renowned kumu hula (master hula teacher), Kehau Chrisman, moved to Arizona from O'ahu with her husband, Ka'imiloa Chrisman, in 2003 and began conducting hula classes in Northern Arizona.  Her hula halau (Napuaokalei'ilima) has grown every year since, and now consists of approximately 50 members, 35 of whom performed at the annual Arizona Aloha Festival in Tempe, Arizona on March 14, 2009.
    The members of the halau not only learn to dance hula, but they also study native Hawaiian language and culture.  To see information about Kehau and her halau, you may go to:  Halau Hula Napuaokalei'ilima
    Napuaokalei'ilima performed for 40 minutes on the main stage on Saturday, March 14.  A 4-minute collage of their wonderful dances should appear for you on the screen below:
