Celebrating Kaua'i

North Shore of Kaua'i
Princeville & Makana Mountain

On March 7, 2015, Kumu Hula (master hula teacher) Kehau Chrisman returned to the annual Arizona Aloha Festival in Tempe, Arizona with her dance group Halau Hula Napuaokalei'ilima to perform for their tenth consecutive year.

The halau imported four-thousand plumeria flowers from Hawaii to make leis for all the dancers.  On Friday evening, March 6, the members of the halau gathered in Phoenix to string the leis.  Then on Saturday they danced for 40 minutes on the Lakeside Stage in the Tempe Lake Park.  Here is an 11-minute video celebrating the island of Kaua'i and honoring Kehau Chrisman for her excellence and her dedication to the Halau.  The video includes stills and clips of the Halau's preparations for the festival.

Aloha!
